Don't Leave Dock Without It: 3 Essential Clauses for Charter Boat Insurance
06/08/2011
Getting your chartered boat insured is a must before taking it out for a spin this summer, but do you know what to look for in a policy?
Here are a few essential clauses, courtesy of Bill Frankies of Boatparadise.com :
- Make sure a clause covering the machinery and hull of a charter boat is included in a charter boat insurance policy, so you can repair your boat ASAP and get your boat back to business without incurring too many expenses or losses.
- Include a protection clause as indemnity against paying the boat’s passengers should they suffer injuries or harm while on-board your charter boat.
- Don't forget to include coverage limits on shore excursions and coverage for the crew as well.
